While the majority of our pre-adolescent patients will not have treatment started until most or all of the permanent teeth are present, we are treating more and more problems earlier. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children see an orthodontist no later than age 7. Early detection and treatment of some problems can greatly reduce the complexity and costs of treatment when compared to treating the same problems later.
Early orthodontic evaluation can help detect some problems before they occur and others before they worsen. Some problems are best treated early! |
